Ian Somerhalder (WIP 4 - probably the last one) by Regaux Ian Somerhalder (WIP 4 - probably the last one) by Regaux
... the last one as in not going to finish the jacket... why? Because, as previously said, this was/is a present for my best friend and I couldn't finish the jacket so I might not get the chance to finish it (unless we both go to college in the same city)

2B mechanical pencil (0.5) on KOH-I-NOOR paper

I'm sorry, but I only watch people whose art interests me; this doesn't have to be offensive, you have a very different, intriguing style, but it is so outside my circle of interest. If you want to watch me, please go ahead; still, if you had enjoyed my art I guess you would have done it already, wouldn't you? That's what I would do, at least, and I wouldn't ask for a "watch-back" which makes me think that you only wanted a new watcher and this probably seemed a good way to get one. Oh, btw, I couldn't help but notice that you practically wrote exactly the same comment (you didn't even bothered to change it) on several artworks that you've faved, which again says that you only want some watchers and maybe you're not that interested others' art. Sorry, but I'm not the person you can ask this.
So... thank you for the compliment (but since you've said exactly the same words to several artists it's obvious you didn't actually mean it and I don't really know what I'm thanking you for), but no, I won't add you to my watch list and it's not fair to ask me this. What if 100 deviants asked you to check their gallery and watch each other? I doubt you would even reply to them. And I'm not saying that 100 deviants asked me this, but if it's wrong for 100 to do this, then it can't be right for you. It's understandable that you want to promote your art, but at least do it classy. Don't go to random profiles and paste the same comment, it's tacky. At least pick up some people who have a similar style to yours... and just skip me next time, I'd hate to write this comment all over again (but I guess I could just copy-paste it, since you're so fond of this).

i only pick art i like from groups and i do post polite comments. im sorry if that doesnt come off as classy to u. dw, i wont comment on ur stuffs next time. i dont want to offend anyone. im not against self promotion and i always pay attention if asked to check out an artist. i believe in giving every talent a chance to be seen.

I've never said your comment was impolite, but posting the same comment to so many people; more like the way you promote yourself is "impolite" and I've never said I'm against self promotion either.

If that piece of art really meant something to you, then you would have had something unique and related to it to say; instead you wrote the same comment for so many and so different (as style, technique, theme, meaning) artworks. When it's genuine you can't possibly not find some words to say about it; therefore, as I said, you wanted a new watcher. Of course it doesn't seem classy to me when I saw how things actually are. At least be honest with yourself if not with me.

That was just a hypothetical situation and even if you said you'd check those 100 galleries that 100 random strangers - who don't actually appreciate you but only want watchers - asked you to check I still don't believe you would do that. And I did check your gallery because I wanted to give you an honest reply regarding your artworks... but then I happened to check your favs, too.

I also believe in chances for talented artists, but I believe in spamming being bothersome, too. So focus on art instead on sending this kind of comments.

I have really diverse taste in art, tbh. That's just how my mind is. If u look more closely at my favs, ull see that the majority have something to do with girls. That's what my drawing preference is and that's what I'm usually drawn to unless the skill in the work catches my attention. I started out with unique comments, but I'm just such a busy girl, I found it easier to compose a comment that encompasses my appreciation for a piece honestly without having to rewrite essentially something similar in different words on each piece. Yes, I like attention to my work, but I'm sincere in giving my attention to the work of others without meaning it as pointless spam. I'm an artist myself and respecting other artists as individuals and uniquely talented people always matters to me! I hope this clears up this spamming misunderstanding u have with my comments. Have a great day!

I think I made my point clear and I have no wish to continue this argument.
A good day to you, too!
